Pottery Class

I am describing my dream several weeks after dreaming it. This dream was so strong; it made it was easy to remember.

I find myself in a pottery class; I am enrolled by myself. Looking around the class I see a lot of people attending with other people they know, friends, relatives and partners. I also see that there are several like me attending by themselves and I decide that it is OK for me to be on my own. The class is taking a while to get started and I decide to head to a break room for a coffee and run into my friend DH and another friend of ours who happens to be attending the same class. We go into the class room which still has not started; I pick up my class materials and head into the hall with my friends to chat while we wait for our instructor. When we realize we have been chatting a long time and should head back to our class, the community center becomes a maze and we get lost trying to find our way back. We finally find our way however we arrive just as the class is wrapping up. I tell my friends not to worry; we only missed the introduction and I tell them we can catch up by reading through the materials handed out. I read to my friends our first step or homework; “draw a picture of what you want to create”. That’s easy! We head home, but again the community center becomes a maze and we are having a problem finding our way out. As we are going through the halls we pass behind a stage where a community play is being performed. All of a sudden a little girl runs up to DH and hands a torch off to her as if she were in a relay race; the next thing we know a crowd of people start chasing us. As we are running I realize that we had inadvertently been caught up in the play and that the torch and chasing crowd was not a threat. I stopped running, but could not get DH’s attention. Alone, I continued on the search for the exit and finally found my way out. The next class, I am being dropped off at the community center by AE (my boyfriend) and as I am heading into the building, just as I am at the door to enter I hear honking and shouting, I turn to see that an old friend of AE’s has spotted him and they exchange hello’s. I watch for a minute and then turn to head into the building for my class.

This dream had details similar of past dreams: chasing, crazy maze-like buildings, the building was run-down, missing walls and a little treacherous. The big difference of past dreams; I was confident and felt empowered. What I find amusing about this dream, my friend was caught up in a community play; later I realized this meant she was caught up in a drama. – Too funny!
